"A friend is one to whom one may pour out all the contents of one's heart, chaff and grain together, knowing that the gentlest of hands will take and sift it, keep what is worth keeping and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away."
- Arabian Proverb
Lately it's been a struggle trying to define what true friendship is, I probably haven't gotten the real definition as yet but I'll continue my quest to do just that. In light of recent incidents I found myself torn between supporting a friend and other quick to judge, criticize, and "bad talk others" people.
"A faithful friend is the medicine of life"
Now I'm in the position where I'm questioning my relationships with those who claim to be my friend till the end, with those who claim to love me for me and continue to profess their undying love for me. Through these questions I've come to the conclusion that their love and support and friendship may be conditional no matter how they will like me to believe that it's unconditional.
Wait...let me clarify that...it may be unconditional until the moment I do something, or say something that's not supportive of or conducive to their beliefs whether it be religious, cultural, or simple values...then all of a sudden I'll be removed from the "friend's" list and the unconditional, undying love list.
"Misfortune shows those who are not really friends"
This is for a friend who has never judged me, or criticized me regardless of what I've done, or openly said. This is for a friend who has never revoked their friendship because I fail to have the same beliefs or values. As you go through your time of trials and tribulations I pray that I'm able to show you the same support and kindness that you've always displayed towards me.
"A real friend is someone who walks in when the rest of the world walks out"
"BLESSINGS" :)
